Practice: Remote Control via Slack ​

Scenario ​

You're away from your computer but need Tencent WorkBuddy to process files, generate reports, or handle tasks. Using Slack on your phone, you can remotely control Tencent WorkBuddy.

Setup ​

First, ensure you've completed the Slack Integration Guide.

Example Workflow ​

  1. Open Slack on your phone
  2. DM your Tencent WorkBuddy bot: "Organize the files in my Downloads folder by type"
  3. Tencent WorkBuddy on your computer receives the task and starts executing
  4. You receive a progress update and final result in Slack

More Examples ​

  • File processing: "Convert all PNG files in the project folder to WebP format"
  • Report generation: "Generate this month's expense report from the spreadsheet in my Documents"
  • Research: "Research the latest React 19 features and save a summary to my workspace"
  • Code tasks: "Run the test suite in my project folder and send me the results"

Tips ​

  • Be specific about file locations and expected outputs
  • You can send follow-up messages to refine results
  • For sensitive operations, Tencent WorkBuddy will ask for confirmation before executing
