✨ New Features

Second-level connections for background sessions

Background agents dispatched by the Web UI now use CLI prewarming by default: the background service keeps one standby process that is activated directly when a new session is created, cutting the first connect time from about 1.3 seconds to about 0.4 seconds. Toggle it at any time under Settings - Behavior (effective immediately), or tune the pool size with the CODEBUDDY_BG_PREWARM_POOL_SIZE environment variable (0 disables it).

More specific quota exhaustion messages

When quota runs out, the message now distinguishes personal, department, and enterprise resource packages. The existing fallback model switching is unchanged.

Show REPL internal tool calls in Web UI

The appearance settings add a "Show REPL internal tool calls" toggle. Internal execution steps and details are hidden by default and can be shown whenever you need to investigate; subagents, replies, and required interactions stay visible.

πŸ”§ Improvements

  • More restrained subagent and task tool usage: subagents are only dispatched when the user, project instructions, a skill, or the current mode explicitly asks for one. Reversible, read-only, and fix-type work no longer asks for repeated confirmation, and authorization stays valid across turns within its original scope; high-risk operations still ask first.
  • Fixed ports for the desktop background service: it picks the first free port among 56527 / 56528 / 56529 in order, so Web UI notification authorization and local device state are no longer cleared when the port changes; when all three are taken it falls back to the previous default port.
  • Host information at a glance: an info icon next to the host name on the host management page shows host name, sharer, SSH account and port, LAN addresses, connection method, relay gateway, and tunnel name, plus the sharing expiry for hosts shared by others.
  • More robust directory browsing: the "Open folder" dialog gains a refresh button, remote hosts can show directory symlinks, an idle dialog reconnects automatically, and a directory tree that hangs switches to a retryable error.
  • Snappier terminal: process ancestry detection in IDE integrated terminals is now asynchronous with a timeout, reducing input lag on Windows; @file completion no longer re-triggers when the cursor moves into a completed path.
  • Switching back to the local host: the terminal now reattaches to the local session that was still running, instead of opening a new shell and losing its output.
  • Bulk delete approval can be disabled separately: the new sandbox.safeDeleteBulkApprovalEnabled setting turns off the bulk-delete count threshold approval while keeping delete protection and other permission checks.
  • Context breakdown in session history: each turn now records a context category snapshot, so history resume and replay can show per-category usage.

πŸ› Bug Fixes

  • Stopping while waiting truly ends the turn: stopping while waiting for a question answer or tool approval is no longer treated as "user declined" and continued in a new turn; unexecuted calls are recorded as interrupted, the turn's Stop hooks run, a cancelled terminal result is written, and queued messages are handled afterwards.
  • No more stuck "generating" when a continuation cannot start: if a Stop hook asks to continue but the continuation is blocked or fails to start, the turn ends with the existing reply and later messages are not left hanging.
  • No more lost images: images returned by the REPL are displayed wherever they appear, including object fields, arrays, and nested structures; invalid images now produce an immediate message and no longer affect later turns.
  • Complete delivery of long WeCom replies: replies over the per-message limit are split into multiple messages sent in order, with code blocks and table headers continued; if streaming cannot continue the full content is resent as normal messages, and undelivered replies now report an error instead of claiming success.
  • More reliable team collaboration: fixes team tasks ending early during automatic retry handoff, team leads being unable to read member output after a rerun, and team members being reclassified as ordinary subagents after reopening history.
  • Windows hook startup: plugin hooks no longer fail to start and block the prompt when PowerShell is missing from the system PATH.
  • Plan card content: approval cards now show the plan body when a plan file is written and plan mode is exited in the same turn.
  • Custom main-thread tools: fixed settings.agent custom main threads falsely reporting tools as unavailable.
  • Desktop UI: fixed the "Downloading" button in the update notice being hard to read in dark themes and misaligned group edges in the account menu.
  • Scheduled task targeting: entering a conversation from an execution record no longer says "no process record found", and earlier executions load older history before locating.
  • No more 502 when creating sessions: when the agent process has exited, it is restarted before creating the session; attached sessions without history now display as an empty session.
  • Lite model recovery policy: the default Lite model is restored only on authentication failure (HTTP 401); gateway errors, rate limits, and timeouts no longer clear the user's choice, and connected hosts are notified when it is restored.
  • WorkBuddy Harness sandbox approval: AIReview-based silent decisions, risk warnings, and cancellation handling are restored.
