π CodeBuddy Code v2.178.1 Release β
π¦ Version Info β
| Component | Version |
|---|---|
| CodeBuddy Code CLI | v2.178.1 |
| Agent SDK JS | v0.3.295 |
| Agent SDK Python | v0.3.294 |
π§ Improvements β
- Switching modes no longer swaps role, model, or permissions: Standard, PTC, Minimal, and Creative modes in the terminal and the built-in CLI Web UI now share one business agent tool policy and only change the tools available. Your selected model, role, and permissions stay the same, and each session keeps its own mode state. Subagents keep their own role and tool restrictions, REPL tool listing, invocation, and authorization follow the current session policy, and embedded hosts are no longer affected by the terminal's manual mode.
- More stable deferred tools and MCP: native deferred tools keep plain-text results, MCP arguments are validated against the original schema and no longer accept extra fields just because a tool declaration was relaxed, and deferred tools and SDK aliases share the same argument conversion and diagnostics. Long integer business IDs are no longer rounded early inside the tool wrapper.
- Underlying conversation engine upgrade: existing behavior for conversations, tool calls, approvals, cancellation, and session resume is unchanged.
- Subagent failures name the executing model: the error message now marks which model actually ran after subagent, making main and sub models easier to tell apart.
- Colleague messages cannot be forged: the model can only list and send colleague messages, inbound receipts are no longer exposed as callable parameters, forged messages built by bypassing the protocol are rejected, and historical receipts still parse normally.
π Bug Fixes β
- No execution after approval resume: a rejected tool call is no longer executed when an approval resumes, and calls the user already approved in auto mode are not blocked a second time. Content safety blocks keep showing the safety notice instead of an internal error, and a session no longer keeps failing after the model occasionally returns a malformed tool name.
- No duplicate prompts for REPL questions under PTC: questions already hosted by the host or answered by the user are not treated as needing approval again, and answers are returned to the model as text.
- Channel colleagues are not woken repeatedly by the same message: when a message was already delivered in an earlier notification and needs no reply, it is accepted without a separate wake-up. Mentions and speaking turns still wake the colleague, with a single line pointing to the earlier message. In task completion notifications, different path spellings of the same file (such as
/tmpand/private/tmp) are merged into one entry. - Task board executor registration: tasks that record an actual executor are cleared when reassigned even if nobody has claimed them, and filtering tasks by member now includes executors outside the channel.
- Legacy task boards upgrade cleanly: existing Agent Home task boards no longer error out or fail to load and are migrated to the new storage on first edit. When a colleague fails before calling the model, the status shows the real reason instead of always suggesting a model service error.
- Images anywhere in REPL return values are displayed: images inside object fields, arrays, or nested structures are recognized and shown instead of being sent back as base64 text and truncated by the transport limit, and a wrong image argument now points to the image viewer tool.
- Terminal output is no longer truncated on slow networks: remote terminal and other push streams are no longer mistaken for stopped readers and disconnected when the network is slow or output is large; the connection only closes when the client truly stops reading for a long time.
- Web UI terminal restores correctly: switching to another page and back while a full-screen terminal program (such as the CodeBuddy Code interactive interface) is running no longer produces duplicated status lines or uneven separators.
